School Management for Racial Equity
Partners: CEERT + SECADI/MEC
Scope: National
- Improving compliance with federal laws (No. 10.639/2003 and 11.645/2008) that make it mandatory to teach African and indigenous history and culture in schools;
- Improving data collection regarding race/color of students, in order to improve diagnoses as well as access to additional federal funds conditioned to the reduction of racial inequalities within schools (such as Fundeb's VAAR);
- Development and implementation of a Municipal Education Management Plan for Racial Equity in each municipality.
In 2026, the digital platform is being upgraded to make the course available to all municipalities nationwide.
Impact
- 374 municipalities reached in 2025 (1,117 education department managers)
- 149 schools (429 school principals) involved in a pilot-program in 2026
- National expansion planned for 2026
Learning to Study Texts (4th and 5th grades)

Scope: Maranhão and Bahia

Postgraduate Scholarships in Literacy
Partners: Instituto Vera Cruz + public schools
Scope: São Paulo
Provision of scholarships for 13 public school teachers working in schools predominantly attended by afro-descendant students in poor regions of São Paulo, so that they can attend one of Brazil's most prestigious postgraduate courses in Teaching Literacy, offered by Instituto Vera Cruz.

Research Fund on Racial Inequalities
Partners: 7 leading Brazilian research centers (ABPN, Ação Educativa, AfroCebrap, Cedra, DARA, GEMAA, NERI - Insper)
Support for research to inform public policies and social investments aimed at reducing racial inequalities in education.
